A brand long synonymous with the best in breath -- Binaca® -- is getting a whole new look. And the refreshed classic will also get support from a television ad campaign debuting (June 22, 2009) www.binaca.com or www.binaca.com/BinacaRefreshedPackaging.
GERTRUDE Inc., www.gertrudeinc.com, is responsible for the brand's re-launch, television campaign, online overhaul and packaging re-design. The brand's re-vitalization continues through 2009 with additional print and guerrilla components.
Binaca AEROblast and Binaca FASTblast now sport an eye-catching packaging design featuring a white background with bright color accents that correspond to different flavors (blue for Peppermint, red for Cinnamint, and green for Spearmint). Offered in a sleek cylindrical tube, Binaca AEROblast comes in bright Peppermint or Spearmint flavors. Binaca FASTblast is a small non-aerosol pocket-sized pump bottle, in Peppermint and brand new Cinnamint.
“These are not your Mom’s Binaca drops – the ones that were shaken onto the tongue to handily counteract stale breath,” says Daniel Enriquez, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for Dr. Fresh, Inc., the Anaheim based oral care company that acquired the Binaca brand in late 2008. “This new generation of spritzable breath fresheners deliver the Binaca quality that consumers expect in a new and contemporary way. With the package re-design, we want to develop a strong new retail presence, and also convey to consumers that Binaca is a classic that has been updated to fit their lifestyles.” The packaging will bear a series of fun and upbeat sayings including “Silence is a waste of fresh breath,” “speak freely,” and “dispense a fresh voice.”
The roll-out will be supported by a national cable TV ad campaign called “Breathless”, featuring 30 second spots that focus on Binaca’s new look. The voiceover tag line for the campaign is “Re-introducing the classic that originally took your breath away.”

The Binaca crew and the crew of Back to the Future staring Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd and a host of other stars brushed elbows at the Binaca gift suite during a memorable weekend of reunions, star appearances and gift giving.
Event officials reported that this was Lea Thompson's first appearance ever at a convention of this type and she looked fabulous!
Our beautiful Binaca hostesses took photos of the stars enjoying Binaca fresh breath products as they visited the Binaca gift suite. In addition to the Back to the Future stars, many other stars participated, including Tia Carrera and Rip Taylor. Everyone seemed to enjoy the fresh Binaca breath spray in Cinnamint, Peppermint and Wintergreen.
